Chapter 276: Getting Ready

Mage Adam

Adam knew his strength well. Even though he didn't enjoy fighting, he was as powerful as any mage at his level, maybe even stronger.

His ultimate magic, "Slash of Judgement," looked like a sword, but it was really a clever use of magnetic fields and electromagnetic forces.

He concentrated his energy in a small area using magnetic fields. Then, he used electromagnetic forces to shape this energy, arranging the elemental units and magic in the most efficient way to release it, creating highly concentrated destructive power. By applying knowledge of gravity and other elements, the Slash of Judgement could cause widespread and even destruction beyond imagination.

From the battle last time, Adam found that in modern magic, using only one type of knowledge or element was inefficient. Knowledge wasn't isolated; it was interconnected. Only by using core knowledge as a framework and integrating other knowledge could a modern mage fully realize their power.

After saving all the spells he used in the last battle, Adam answered Garfield's question.

"If you were a fox locked in a room with two wolves in front of you and a wolf king knocking on the door outside, and someone appeared in the room and said if you trusted him, he could help you find others to defeat the wolves, what would you do?" Adam asked casually.

Upon hearing this, Lina wrapped Sophia in a giant flower. Sophia thought it was fun and laughed happily. She flapped her wings and hit the petals, only to be bounced back, but she didn't give up.

Lina then said, "You would have to trust the person. Trusting might make the fox food later, but not trusting and attacking the person would mean the fox is done for."

"Exactly, it's simple logic. If the Titans don't want to be wiped out immediately, they have to trust me. Even if they know it's a risky move, they have no choice."

Garfield nodded, half understanding. "These days, York city is almost empty, even many Titans keeping the production running have left. Almost all capable Titans have gone to the front lines. I heard the Metal Eaters are gathering their troops near the border, it seems they want to destroy the Titans in one battle."

"Master, how will you help them? Aren't the coordinates hidden by the Devourer?"

"The Devourer hid the coordinates by invading the Origin and establishing altars. Neither I nor the Titans can do anything about the Origin. However, the altars are a glaring flaw. Destroying more of these altars will greatly speed up the progress of deciphering the coordinates," Adam explained. "So, in this battle, the Titans cannot stay on the defensive. They must take the initiative, complete my task, and bring in the Mage Legion before the enemy army arrives."

Garfield seemed hesitant to speak.

SMACK!

Sophia finally burst out of the giant flower. She lost control of her body and crashed into Adam.

"I know what you want to say. Nothing is one hundred percent certain. Explorers always take on the most dangerous tasks. If we don't take risks, do we just wait for death?"

Adam caught Sophia and placed her on his head, then walked straight outside. His avatars emerged from his body and flew in all directions. He said, "There's no time to waste. The Titans will break the altars for us, and we must produce more weapons and energy for them."

...

"If Adam's map is correct, there should be an altar ahead." Within the spatial folds, Lord Svorsi and two other unknown Royals stood together, looking at the map.

"There are two more marked locations nearby. Should we split up?" one Royal asked.

Lord Svorsi shook his head. "We can't split up; it's too dangerous. If we're ambushed, the three of us together should be able to escape. Besides, our main task now is to verify the accuracy of Adam's map. Once we do that, we can proceed cautiously."

After traveling through the void for a while, the three of them burst into the material plane. They saw a defensive shield ahead with a pyramid emitting strange energy inside it.

"Everyone, charge!" Lord Svorsi shouted, running through the sky. His Vital Generator operated at high speed, sending a continuous flow of energy throughout his body. His body reassembled, countless pieces of armor attached to his skin, and gaps in the void opened, allowing stored external equipment to merge with his body.

Within seconds, he transformed into war mode, his entire body equipped with hundreds of terrifying cannons.

The other two Royals did the same. They formed a triangle in the sky, gathering massive energy that caused the space to ripple and tremble.

"Fortress Destroyer!"

...

The Royals acted quickly.

After the meeting ended, all but the oldest Lords returned to their bodies. Following a secret mobilization, they divided into several teams and headed secretly towards the Metal Eaters' territory.

Adam estimated the positions of other altars by using calculations from the locations and the direction of energy flows.

He then drew a rough map and gave the Royals a large number of magic scrolls he had stored in the Mage World.

These scrolls included large-scale teleportation, shields, concealment, and more. He also modified their activation methods to ensure they could be triggered using Flame energy.

Seeing the magical capabilities of these scrolls, the Royals felt greatly encouraged. They wasted no time and acted with urgency.

This was the first time the Royals ventured out of their territory, having resolved to make a last stand. This battle was a do-or-die situation for them.

The Metal Eaters were stunned. Their enemies' behaviors of the past four thousand years were overturned in such a short time, making it hard for the slow-witted Metal Eaters to adapt and respond correctly.

The spatial anchor's progress climbed steadily. In just five days, it rose from sixty percent to eighty-one percent.

Adam stayed indoors, focusing all his efforts on controlling the smelting factories and energy plants in the major cities. All the magic arrays and machines operated at full capacity, and large quantities of materials were continuously sent to the front lines.

On the fifth day, the Metal Eaters launched a frenzied counterattack. Most of their higher-ranked individuals returned inland to protect the remaining altars, while others led their lower-ranked kin in attacking the frontline fortresses. Small conflicts erupted constantly and quickly intensified. They were waiting for their rear to stabilize, signaling the start of all-out war.

On the sixth day, with progress at eighty-seven percent, the first Titan Royal fell, her Flame dissipating into the heavens.

On the seventh day, with progress at ninety-three percent, two more Royals fell in quick succession, leaving no remains.

On the eighth day, with progress at ninety-nine percent, only thirty-six out of forty-seven Royals remained.

Adam stepped out of the factory, arriving in person at the Titan God's remains.

Thirty-six Flames blazed into the sky. Lord Fast, sorrowful, said, "We have fulfilled our promise."

Adam held the spatial anchor in his hand and said, "Take me to the Titan God's Vital Generator. I need to use your power to connect to the Mage World."
