Chapter 119: Fire Raid

Re: Apocalypse Game

While the intense battle raged on one side of the block, Alan and his team executed their well-devised plan with precision and determination. To reach their target, they initially used a sewer line that led from outside the town, a covert passage that provided them with a critical advantage. However, this sewer line only took them halfway to their objective. Consequently, a temporary diversion became necessary.

In a meticulously timed maneuver, as soon as Luis drove the armored vehicle into the Nazi barricades, Alan and the rest of the militia sprang into action. They emerged from the sewer, embarking on a rapid five-minute, 200-meter sprint towards their designated target.

Upon arriving at the site, a surprise awaited them all:

[Hidden Quest Activated] [You received E level quest: Clear out Nazi outpost]

"Let's not waste time!" Alan declared, taking charge of the situation. With a well-coordinated tactical approach, he led the 60-strong militia into the compound, swiftly engaging the approximately hundred Nazi soldiers stationed within the fire station before the hundred more in the vicinity came to help.

Their assault was a carefully choreographed preemptive strike, executed through three different entry points that had been rehearsed thoroughly.

Amid the cacophony of gunfire and shouts, Alan's team displayed remarkable coordination and discipline. Each member knew their role well, and they moved with fluidity and precision, making quick work of the enemy forces.

Rose, jumping high using his [monkey boots] positioned expertly on a nearby rooftop, provided invaluable cover, her sniper rifle picking off Nazi soldiers attempting to reinforce their comrades. With each precise shot, she eliminated threats from above, ensuring the team's safety.

Meanwhile, Merle's group secured the front entrance with a combination of suppressive fire and expert marksmanship. Their actions disrupted any attempts by the Nazis to regroup or counterattack, allowing Alan's team to breach the building more easily.

Inside the fire station, the close-quarters combat was fierce and unrelenting. Alan, Daniel, and Milo moved as a cohesive unit, covering each other's flanks as they methodically cleared room after room. The Nazis, caught off guard by the Wolverines' swift and coordinated assault, struggled to mount an effective defense.

"Room clear!" Daniel called out as they moved through the ground floor, marking their progress.

Alan's leadership and combat skills were on full display as he directed the team, taking down Nazis with well-placed shots and precise strikes with his newly upgraded sword. The chaos of battle was punctuated by the distinctive sounds of gunfire and melee combat, and the Wolverines fought with determination and a shared sense of purpose.

"More on the second floor!!'

"Move, move!!"

The relentless momentum of the preemptive strike was the Wolverines' greatest advantage. They pressed forward, leaving no opportunity for the enemy to establish a stable defensive position. Alan led the charge, moving with a ferocity that caught the Nazis off guard. His combat skills were on full display as he fired off rounds from his Luger pistol, slashed with his newly acquired sword, and tossed grenades into rooms, swiftly neutralizing any threats within.

The main challenge for Alan came when he encountered the Elite SS soldiers in the building's central room on the second floor. Their presence was ominous, and they were accompanied by a bellowing officer who urged them to eliminate the intruders.

"Kill them all!" the officer shouted, his rage palpable.

Dealing with one Elite SS soldier was already a daunting task, but facing three simultaneously was a formidable challenge. Alan knew he needed help to overcome this obstacle.

Thankfully, Milo, the skilled boxer, was at his side. Without hesitation, Milo lunged at one of the charging Elite SS soldiers, tackling him and sending them both crashing into the wall.

The walls reverberated with the sounds of their collision, and debris scattered as they grappled and exchanged bone-crushing blows. Milo's punches landed with precision and force, exploiting his opponent's vulnerabilities. His [Warrior Spirit] enhanced his striking power, allowing him to land blows that would have incapacitated a lesser adversary.

Though formidable, the Elite SS struggled to match Milo's sheer tenacity. His armor protected him from some of the damage, but the relentless onslaught of Milo's fists began to wear him down. Each strike from Milo took a toll, and the Elite SS soldier found himself on the defensive, unable to mount a sustained counterattack.

The room became a battleground where the two powerful combatants clashed, and Alan took advantage of the moment to engage the remaining Elite SS soldiers.

His lightning-fast assault continued as he swiftly dispatched the first SS soldier by propelling him out of the office window into the adjoining room. This tactical move brought him precious moments to engage the second SS soldier.

The second SS operative was a specialist in firearms, and he wasted no time in unloading his semi-automatic shotgun on Alan.

BAAMMM!!!

[Shooting: Received 48 damage]

The shotgun blast inflicted significant damage, momentarily forcing Alan to retreat due to the powerful recoil. But Alan's determination was unwavering, and he knew he had to close the gap.

Gritting his teeth, Alan activated his [Leaping Strike] sword skill to close the distance. With remarkable agility and the 30% speed boost of his sword, he landed a decisive blow on the Elite SS soldier, disregarding the pain from the gunshot wound.

[Stabbing: Lethal Attack. Inflicts 96 damage],

[Shooting: Received 48 damage]

[Stabbing: Inflicts 58 damage]

[Stabbing: Inflicts 62 damage],

It took three powerful strikes to force the SS elite to drop his shotgun, and Alan seized the opportunity to finish him off with his own shotgun.

[Shooting: Lethal Attack. Inflicts 133 damage]

[You have killed the elite soldier]

The Elite SS soldier fell, defeated, and Alan reaped the rewards of his victory – 800 XP and 400 survival points. Although he didn't find any of the coveted notes or a combat shotgun, the box of [12 gauge shells] he obtained was a welcome addition to his inventory.

Turning his attention to the next room, Alan spotted Daniel locked in a fierce struggle with the second Elite SS soldier. Assessing the situation, he decided to trust in Daniel's abilities and moved on to clear out the Nazi officer and the reinforcements that had just entered the room. As the last enemy soldier fell, Alan couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in witnessing Daniel's triumphant battle.

"I did it, Mr. D, I did it!" Daniel exclaimed, his voice filled with exhilaration and accomplishment.

[You have successfully cleared out the outpost]

[You have completed E level quest]

[You received E rank reward x1]

[You received 1000 survival points, 1000 XP]

Clearing out the entire fire station took the Wolverines nearly 10 minutes, just a couple of minutes longer than Alan would have liked. Merle's impatient voice echoed from outside, urging them to finish up quickly.

"Are you done yet? There are too many of them; we need to get out quickly!" Merle's words were laced with urgency, emphasizing the gravity of their situation.

Alan glanced out of a nearby window and was met with a chilling sight. Hundreds of Nazi soldiers were converging on their location, their swastika-adorned uniforms a stark reminder of the danger closing in on them. It was as expected; escaping the station would be no easy feat.

However, Alan had meticulously planned for this very scenario. His confidence in the mission stemmed from the treasure trove hidden within the fire station's garage – a fully functional fire truck and four sturdy vans. These vehicles would be more than sufficient to transport the entire Wolverines team to safety.

Making his way to the garage, Alan found the support team members already making sure all vehicles were fully operational.

"All trucks and vans have been filled up! We are ready to go!" one of the support team members reported a glimmer of determination in their eyes.

"Alright, prepare to leave!" Alan ordered.

But the fire truck wasn't the only reason he chose this fire station as the target. Alan headed towards the locker room, where he observed his teammates had diligently gathered the essential items he had come for:

[Gas mask] x 8

[Fire jacket] x 8

These items weren't just a coincidence; they were the driving force behind his selection of this particular objective. These protective gear pieces would undoubtedly prove to be invaluable assets in the upcoming battle, fortifying their chances of success.

"Let's go!" Alan declared with conviction.

The heavy fire truck roared to life and surged out of the station, holding for few seconds to let Merle and his team jump on board and then it continue its formidable presence smashing through any Nazi soldiers or barricades that dared to stand in their way.

The rest of the convoy followed closely, creating a path of chaos and destruction as they quickly covered three blocks and made a triumphant exit from the besieged town. Their exit from the town marked the end of a daring raid that would soon become a legend among the other players.
