Chapter 114
SSS-Grade Cafe in Front of The Dungeon
Moreover, young Ki Yoohyun.
It was cute because he had a different personality from the present Ki Yoohyun, but if he’s that young, I’m in trouble ….. aaaaaaaah, I shouldn’t think about this.
Let’s calm down. If there’s a problem, there’s a solution. I looked around with the mindset of finding the answer sheet for a maths workbook.
“What are you mumbling all by yourself, waeooong!”
“……”
Pass. She looks like she doesn’t know anything.
“Are you ignoring me!”
You’re getting quick-witted day by day, Meeum-ah.
I opened my grandmother’s diary again, but I can’t see the visions anymore. There was nothing written on it, just blank pages.
Ki Yoohyun told me that he won’t be able to be contacted for a few days. Even if it was possible, it would be awkward to suddenly ask about his childhood. It was difficult to explain how I knew about the past he had not told me about. It might arouse his suspicions.
Most of all, his painful appearance, the explicit sight.
Can I arbitrarily bring up the pain he didn’t talk about just to get to the bottom of my question? Wouldn’t my question dig up useless memories? Do I have the right to ask about his past?
Then all that’s left is…….
I got up and came out of the cabin.
Keeping my distance from the flammable plants, I found a suitable clearing and opened the system window.
[Skill: Eternal Flame (S) is used.]
[You summon Cthugha.]
Hwuuur.
Cthugha appeared with a blazing flame. The flames slowly transformed into a human with red hair.
However, the system notification did not end.
[Attack the area in 10-meter radius with Eternal Flame.]
[If you do not cancel within 10 seconds, it will be automatically executed. 10, 9, 8….]
“Eek, cancel! Cancel!”
[The attack has been canceled.]
Gosh, I was surprised. What a scary ring.
If it burn everything in a radius of 10 meter, won’t I die too?!
I took a closer look at the skill window. There was a small option selection window under the ‘Eternal Flame (S)’.
[Automatic Attack: On ☜ / Off]
To set the default setting of such a scary option to ‘On‘ … I really couldn’t be careless with this sytem. I quickly changed the option to ‘Off’.
“My granddaughter!”
Cthugha, whose appearance became completely human, called me.
“Why have you never called me before? Do you know how bored … ahem, no, do you know how lonely I’ve been?”
Cthugha tried to hug me, but he stopped his action. He widened his eyes in surprise when he noticed the cabin on the border of the forest.
“Don’t tell me, this place….!”
Dak dak. Cthugha ran towards the cabin. After passing through the empty living room, he spotted the fireplace in the kitchen and dropped to his knees. His sobs are muffled by the wind.
“Ooh….”
The answer is obvious from his reaction, but I still asked just to be sure.
“Is this where my grandmother used to live?”
“Yes, it is. I never thought I’d be able to come back here…..”
His head tilted at an angle. I watched him for a moment, then opened my mouth.
“I found this notebook here.”
I briefly described the vision I saw when I opened the notebook, then Cthugha spoke.
“That looks like a fragment of causality left behind by Miss Heesun. To put it simply, a fragment of a broken link.”
“I’m sorry, I have no idea what you’re talking about….”
What is a fragment of a broken link? I don’t think it’s something real like a hair tie.
“Huh, Goodness! This is why mortals are doomed. I can’t believe you can’t understand this simple explanation. What should I call it … it is like a VR experience. Yes,a VR game that takes you into the past!”
“Aha…..”
I finally nodded at the customized explanation.
In other words, it was Ki Yoohyun’s past.
The image of the boy in pain flashed in my eyes. What did the Church do to him?
Also, why did my grandmother leave a record of Ki Yoohyun and nothing else? She must not have known him in her lifetime.
“…….”
“…….”
We were both lost in thought, me being me and Cthugha being Cthugha.
I finally broke the heavy silence by bringing up the words that I hesitated to say.
“You told me before that my grandmother left you without a word.”
“…….”
“My grandmother left this place because my parents died. The sudden loss of contact must have been unintentional, so…..”
I trailed off, unable to find the right words.
In the earliest years I can remember, my parents had already passed away. With no memory, there is no sorrow. It’s just a vague sense of loss.
The first rift.
It refers to a large-scale rift that occurred simultaneously in various parts of the world shortly after the occurrence of the Great Dungeon Abyss.
My parents were caught in the first rift and died. They said that I was the only one lucky enough to be rescued. All I have left is a photograph.
“I see … was it something like that?”
Cthugha, who rose in front of the fireplace, left the cabin.
This time, he stood on the cliff and crossed, lost in his own thought while looking down at the cabin. He looks wistful, as if he’s searching for a time that no longer exists.
The problem was that whenever his emotions fluctuated, flames erupted around him.
This was a dangerous environment for him to set himself on fire.
“Aaah, be careful!”
“……!”
Cthugha, who almost burned all the dungeon sugarcanes after a sigh, winced.
“Hmm, Sorry. It wasn’t intentional.”
“I’m sorry, but over there, go over there.”
Cthugha went to the place I pointed out and sat cross-legged. He sighed with a dreamy expression again. This time, however, the branch of the World Tree, Yggdrasil, was almost turned into firewood.
“My granddaughter, somehow there’s so much combustible material here.”
“That’s because this is a field…….”
Cthugha, who wandered around in this space, eventually settled in front of a box containing green coffee beans. Coffee was the only thing here that he could set fire at will.
Apparently, Cthugha is used to being a gas burner himself. The fire roared to life, and soon there was a sound of beans being roasted.
Smelling the strong coffee, I sank on the grass.
Just as one question is solved, another arises.
I said I wanted to be a cafe owner, not a detective. I’m a person who reads mystery novels after checking the culprit spoiler first.
“Waeong…..”
Then Mieum approached me. Lime wasn’t with her, having gone to the Golden Triangular Rhino barn.
“Mieum-ah, what’s wrong?”
“Don’t forget. You can do what you want to do.”
“What do I want to do?”
“What you wished for them in the first place. It’s your job to do what you want to do. Waeuung….”
“Hmm……”
I looked at Mieum quietly.
Her expression was unusually serious. She looked desperate, as if she wanted to convey something.
“Our Mieum, for some reason, is saying the right thing.”
“I always say the right thing, waeoong!”
“Yes, yes.”
I reached out my hand and stroked Mieum. Mieum ducked her head as if she was being bothered, but soon she purred.
Yes, this cat is right.
Phew, I almost got carried away. I was on the verge of becoming a person who agonized over the secrets of the world.
Neither Ki Yoohyun’s past nor the identity of the causality in my grandmother’s vision could be known at this time.
I opened the system window and checked the achievement list. Starting with the first ‘Became a Beginner Cafe Owner‘ achievement, the latest achievement was written like this.
‘You were determined to benefit the world with coffee‘.
What a clear and good statement.
Let’s save the question to another regressor for later, and let’s do what we can before then. I’m talking about cafe management.
Just as I was organizing my thoughts, Cthugha approached me.
“Granddaughter, I roasted all the coffee here.”
All that much already?
Not only that, but the color was perfect. The fire had been carefully controlled to achieve the optimal roast.
“Hahahaha! I can do this for you as much as you want, so call me again.”
Feeling proud of his actions, Cthugha went back on his own.
I’m glad he’s feeling better….
There is an immortal who enjoy roasting coffee, so I should work hard too.
After making such a simple yet progressive conclusion, I went back to the store in good spirits.
“Why now?”
Ash, who should have been deeply engrossed in the architectural miniatures, grabbed my sleeve and pulled me along.
“Ash, what’s wrong with you all of a sudden? Is something wrong?”
“Look at that!”
“Huh?”
Ash pointed out the window. As I turned my head to follow his fingers, I was startled. A large placard was hung in a prominent location.
“We condemn Cafe Rieul….?”
It’s really a cafe management with no windy day.
***
Santa Claus, no, Kwon Seokmin hurried his steps.
The streets were buzzing with the anticipation of Christmas. He doesn’t feels out of place in a red Santa costume. Even those who give him a glance don’t take him seriously, thinking it’s a part of promotional event.
There wasn’t much time.
This happened because it took longer than expected to retrieve the Tikkoun Elixir from the hidden altar on Jirisan Cheonwangbong Peak. The entrance to the altar is guarded by a watcher. However, Kwon Seokmin, who was disconnected from the system, was able to avoid the eyes of the watcher. After he escaped the Maze dungeon, this is a blessing in disguise.
“Tsk tsk, they said there could be a little time difference, but throwing away six years … it’s a scam, a scam.”
Kwon Seokmin grumbled to himself.
The experience at the Maze dungeon was terrible enough for him not to want to recall. However, there are some things that he learned from this experience.
‘It’s amazing. This world is actually…….’
“Long time no see. Where are you going that makes you so busy, Hunter Kwon Seokmin?”
A cold voice cut off Kwon Seokmin’s thoughts. Surprised, Kwon Seokmin turned to the direction where the sound came from.
At the end of the narrow alley, a woman stood in front of him.
She was dressed in a suit, her hair neatly combed. Her arms are crossed, the posture gives a feeling of composure unique to a successful person.
“I’m just a passing Santa.”
“Don’t you remember? It’s already been six years, but I’ve met you at the guild leader’s meeting.”
“I’m getting older these days, so my memory is a little blurry….”
“At that time, I was still just a representative of the new guild, but I shook hands with Hunter Kwon Seokmin.”
Smile. Lee Sein smiled.
“…Heh.”
After staring at her wordlessly for a moment, Kwon Seokmin clicked his tongue.
“Let’s stop playing jokes that aren’t funny. You’ve already devoured that body, Aeon.”
“Uh-oh. Did you notice? Then this conversation will be fast.”
The eyes shone coldly.
“How did you get out of it alive?”
“Tsk tsk, putting people in labyrinths. You’re so mean to someone with a bad sense of direction, really.”
“The Infinite Labyrinth. It’s a place that a mere mortal can never get out of, so what did you do?”
“Hahahaha! Hahahaha!”
Kwon Seokmin burst into laughter. He leaned his back against the wall of the alley and laughed.
At the same time, he scanned the surroundings.
Three behind him, three in front. He’s already surrounded. It’s impossible for him to escape on his own.
“The incarnation of the Mad God Chaos. Seeing that you came looking for me, it seems you haven’t found it yet, right?”
The expression, who had Lee Sein’s body, hardened fiercely.
“Where is the Grimoire?”
“Well, I’m getting older these days, so my memory is a little blurry. Where did I put it…….”
“If you tell me the location of the Grimoire, I might be able to save you.”
“The children will resent you for interrupting Santa Claus as he delivers happiness to children.”
Lee Sein smiled as if she had heard a funny joke. With a light gesture, the attackers surrounded Kwon Seokmin in a circle.
“As expected. It seems you have no intention of telling me the location.”
“……Ugh!”
From behind, a mysterious man attacked Kwon Seokmin.
Puck!
His vision went black. Kwon Seokmin was dragged away.

Translator’s Corner:
It’s really a cafe management with no windy day: the expression used in this sentence comes from the proverb 가지 많은 나무에[나무가] 바람 잘 날이 없다, a tree with many branches doesn’t have a peaceful day with the blowing wind. I used “with no windy day” because the wind does not stop blowing that’s why there’s no windy day (since everyday has wind). Well, it means that a tree with many branches will always noisy because the branches will rustle and make noise even with a breeze/weak wind. It usually used to express that parents with many children will be under constant worries and concerns every day.
Anyway, I think there’s a lot of typos in this chapter so I’ll comeback to check later skhsdskkjsjh I did this on my phone on hospital bed (nothing serious I swear, just apparently i’m not suited with internship + volunteer works with too many physical activies, I’ll stay in my bed and just keep this blog running from now on) instead of studying even though I have an online exam coming up tomorrow … please pray for me because it’s an important exam T__T
Oh, I was feeling blue lately and opening this blog gave me joy … I hope this blog will live for a long a time so please don’t repost everything from here T__T This is my source of happiness….
and tomorrow is Valentine Day! I hope you guys get a lot of love!
